Disable the PS/2 port

To DISABLE THE PS/2 PORT, set the PS/2 port option to 'Disabled'. This option may be identified as a 'Built-in Mouse Port', 'PS/2 Mouse Function Control' or some other similarly named function in an 'Advanced' setup of the BIOS.

The BIOS may reserve an interrupt (usually interrupt 12 or interrupt 16) and port address for the mouse port. If the PS/2 mouse port is 'Enabled', the BIOS will look for a mouse connected at this port and automatically configure the mouse at 'boot' with the default interrupt and address. The default interrupt and address will not be available for other devices as long as the mouse port is 'Enabled' in BIOS.
